We got a last minute deal for flights and hotel to Lisbon in May and not knowing anything, we just went for it. I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was fine, we stayed at the hotel miraparque, the room was comfortable, and its close to the metro so you can get everywhere quickly. We did a walking tour around the city and saw the old town, as well as trying out some delicious food including pastesi de belem, these very traditional portugues deserts. We loved lisbon and are planning on visiting again as soon as we can.
Lisbon is great. Get on the tram to see the best bits of the old town and explore some of the better restaurants.
Be warned – full of hills.
