Our opinion about Playa del Carmen
Originally a small fishing town, Playa del Carmen holidays offer a milk white ribbon of sand that drifts into the sparkling warm waters of the Caribbean. The family beach just south of the main pier has gently shelving waters, well-organised loungers and amenities and regular boat trips to the nearby island of Cozumel. Really relaxing, a great place for people watching. We did some shopping there are some good cheap souvenirs and bits worth picking up. Very friednly atmosphere.
There are mayan ruins, scuba diving and sea turtles. Would highly recommend.
Playa del Carmen is a lovely resort. Weather is so, so hot, lots of places around to eat and drink and plenty of loungers to relax in after stuffing our faces!!!
