Our opinion about Maspalomas
As the oldest tourist town on Gran Canaria, Maspalomas has had a lot of practice at receiving visitors. The area is famous for its beaches, but when you’re finished sunbathing for the day, there are plenty of restaurants and bars to keep you going and even a lighthouse to explore. The sand dunes are AMAZING! They are a world heritage site and I would definitely recommend a visit. Taxis were convenient and not expensive, lots of choices to eat and drink.
Very nice for long walks and the beach is lovely. However be warned, the dunes are a bit of a trek and tough if you have a buggy, or any mobility problems. But in my opinion it is worth it when you get past them, the beach is lovely, really warm waters, and very clean beach.
