Our opinion about Kavala
A major stopping point in the north of Greece, Kavala is close to Thessaloniki and Lemnos as well as plenty of the islands. The area is filled with history; you’ll find the ancient city of Phillipoi, founded by the father of Alexander the Great just ten minutes away, while the ancient road which connected Constantinople with Rome can still be seen in parts. Spend days exploring and evenings out at traditional tavernas and come home rested and relaxed from Kavala. Set up your cheap holiday…

Kind of a last minute choice, we stayed in stayed in the town of Kavala for a week and had a good time. Beaches were beautiful and clean, the staff in the hotel were so friednly, great cocktails on the beach, but it's definitely a good choice if you want something not your typical Greek resort.
