We didn't know anything about it, but this resort was perfect for a family break in Halkidiki. The beach featured fine sand and warm waters, so the children really enjoyed swimming everyday. Local amenities and accommodation were also of good standard. I’d recommend hiring a car so that you can visit the surrounding areas, where there are many other beautiful beaches and sights.

If you’re after a typical Greek holiday, well this prob won’t be geared for you. The location is in the North of the country, and many of the tourists are actually Greek! Still, it’s a nice traditional sort of place, with a couple of tavernas. Good if you don’t want the typical sun hol.

I loved the beaches in Gerakini, it’s in the North, so maybe it’s not quite *as* hot as some of the islands, but it’s a lovely part of Greece, I would go back.

Quite good for a holiday with the kids, beach is nice and clean, accommodation was of a high standard and there wasn’t really much of that nightclub vibe you get in lots of these places. So in terms of that, I would give Gerakini a thumbs up.
