Stayed at thew Valero beach resort and we loved everything about it. Clean and spacious room, friendly staff and excellent facilities. Onsite restuarant has a good selection and there are lots of loungers byu the pool and the beach.
Dominican Republic is a beautiful place, but you can see it’s quite poor. If thats going to be too much for you, you should stay in resort. We had a wonderful time, resort is lovely, the long beache is great for sunbathing and a walk into the town is very nice, lots of shops, and bars and stuff. Keep an eye on your bags as you would anywhere.
It’s not the quietest beach you’ll ever find, there are plenty of kite surfers, but the long beach has plenty of room, so it’s not too bad. Beach is really stunning, there’s a bit of hassle from venders, but just say a firm no and they’ll leave you too it.
The beaches are absolutely superb. But that’s it. Food was decent, it’s a nice touch if you bring some things for the local school children, colouring pencils etc. Are very much appreciated.
