Our opinion about Obidos

Obidos really comes alive in July, so it’s the perfect choice for a summer holiday that’s a little bit off-the-beaten-track. Gorgeous for a city break, or for longer, there is a great selection of hotels and accommodations in the small town and a wealth of things to see and do.

The Medieval Castle is a must-see, while the surrounding hillside offers great hiking trails and stunning views. In the middle of July, the Grande Mercado Mediaval de Obidos, the town’s Medieval Festival kicks off, with jousting in the street, traditional foods and lots of fun for all the family.
