Our opinion about Es Mercadal

Halfway between the current capital Mahon and the former one, Ciutadella, Es Mercadal certainly has something for everyone. Taking its name from a 14th century market held on the spot, the town sits right at the foot of Menorca’s highest mountain the Monteo Toro.

A relaxed resort that reflects an authentic atmosphere, it’s a quiet place to holiday. It’s in the centre of the island around 25-25 minutes from the airport and offers a great base to explore the beaches, sights and restaurants that make Menorca famous.

The town is also famous for its traditional biscuits with almond macaroons and various pastries on offer in the cafes and restaurants along the tiny winding streets.
