Our opinion about Ericeira

The town of Ericeira has a huge history, dating back to the 12th century, which is visible in the dramatic Portuguese architecture of its older buildings. Beautiful churches and whitewashed houses emphasise the local charm, creating the perfect setting for an afternoon stroll. And, as the town is renowned as a haven for foodies, finish off your walk with lunch in one of the local cafes or restaurants, which serve up delicious regional cuisine (seafood is a must here).

If the beach is more your scene, the ones around the area are good for swimming, surfing and sunbathing, particularly the Praia do Sol, which is hugely popular with both locals and visitors.

By night, there are plenty of bars located in town to choose from, all of which are open until the early hours. These include Portugal’s oldest club,  the Ourico, a great après-beach cocktail haunt.
