Our opinion about Cala d’Or

The holiday resort of Cala D’or stretches out for 4km, covering a number of Majorca’s sandiest beaches. Of these the largest is Cala Gran, which you’ll find surrounded by many restaurants, bars and cafes. The beach Cala D’or, from which the resort takes its name, is situated close to Cala Gran and is backed by a picturesque cove of pine trees. From all the beaches within the resort, pedalos and parasols can be hired.

If you wish to escape Cala D’or and get further afield, daily buses run to Es Trenc, a scenic resort backed by golden sand dunes. The beach here stretches for 5km and is incredibly popular with holidaymakers. Buses also run to Palma several times a day and visitors staying in Cala D'or are well placed to view some of the capital’s famous attractions, such as La Seu and Bellver Castle.
