If you’re looking for a quiet, laid-back getaway then look no further than Aghios Fokas. Life in this tourist-free village revolves around the long stretch of beach, which fades softly from volcanic black to iridescent-white, and from powdery sand to smooth pebbles. Relax within the tidy rows of canopied sun beds while the children play in the rock pools, or swim in the magical sea, which is warm (40+ degrees) and very deep due to the island’s volcanic setting.
