Our opinion about Afandou

Afandou was founded when people used to leave the shores in order to seek shelter in the inland from the pirates who once ran the islands of the Mediterranean. The village of Afandou privded this shelter, its name coming from the Greek word afandos, meaning invisible, because it could not be seen from the sea. Close to Faliraki, Afandou is one of the largest and oldest villages on Rhodes, possessing all the essential ingredients you expect in a Greek getaway. Think fruit-bearing and olive trees, crystal clear waters, hidden coves and endless white sands.
