Where to Stay

Sharm el sheikh

Sharm el Sheikh is one of Egypt's oldest and most popular resorts, perfect for all types of holidaymakers. Families will love the facilities and water sports activities available while young people will love the vibrant nightlife. Everyone will fall for the stunning stretches of white sand and some of the finest diving opportunities in the world.

Hurghada

Again this coastal resort is a hit with families and is Egypt's busiest owing to the beautiful stretch of coral reef that's home to hundreds of species of marine life. Hurghada also offers plenty of hotels, restaurants and activities for discovering the marine life such as snorkelling and diving.

Luxor

A holiday to Luxor gives you an insight into Egypt like no other. See ancient temples and tombs including the famous Tutankahmen burial site and the Temple of Karnak, the largest ancient religious site in the world.

Things to do

Nature

Get up close with life underwater. The Red Sea is a diving hotspot offering the chance to explore coral reefs and see tropical fish.

Family Attractions

Need we say more about family attractions here? Egypt holidays are great for all ages to learn about Ancient Egypt. The Ancient Pyramids at Giza is the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world that is still standing today! Of course the beaches are a natural attraction and offer a variety of water sports to try out. Animal lovers will embrace the chance to hop on a camel in the sand dunes.

Nightlife

You'll find a re-energised nightlife scene in Sharm-el-Sheikh particularly and some nightlife in bars, clubs and restaurants around other resorts. You'll find the uber-stylish open-air Pacha club in Naama Bay where you can dance the night away on the beach.

Food & Drink

Make sure you try some of the local delicacies in the souks. One of the most relaxing things to do (apart from the beach) is to take your time sipping a traditional mint tea, also known as 'ahwa'.

Shopping

For the ultimate Egyptian shopping experience you should head to the El Dahar area in Hurghada. Around the original village you'll find fish markets and traditional shops and a marketplace selling lots of spices, perfumes and different foods. If you're in Cairo then you won't want to miss the chance to visit the Khan al-Khalili bazaar and uncover some treasures in the alleyways of the souk.

Weather

The best thing about Egypt is that it is a year-round destination. Temperatures rarely go below 20C in the winter but can often soar above 35C at the height of summer. This is a great destination for spring and autumn holidays if you like it hot but not scorching.

Events

New Year

Ring in the New Year in style at Pacha nightclub's big clubbing event.

South Sinai Camel Festival

Tribes from all over Egypt gather in Sharm-el-Sheikh for entertaining camel races.
