Very hot.
Agios Ioannis has some of the best beaches i've ever been on in my life. If you want to just relax in the sun, go to a beach bar, this is perfect. However, it's REALLY hot at the top of the season, i'm talking around August, prob not best for kids.

Lovely, a bit quieter than say Ornos, beaches are second to none. For a sun holiday it's ideal.
