It is located in one of the great spot, too, with views over the adjacent picturesque natural harbour of Sissi while just 700 metres from a sandy beach. In the middle of the bright and scented flora of the gardens are the pools including a large outdoor one surrounded by sun loungers and parasols. The pool bar conveniently serves snacks as well as drinks. So, not surprisingly, this is a favourite spot for guests to spend the day. If you’re holidaying with children, the hotel runs a kids’ club during the day. Later on, while you relax over dinner, the games room will keep them amused, and excess energy can be expended in the playground. Speaking of food, the Maritimo’s main restaurant, on the terrace serves traditional Greek and Cretan specialities as well as a good choice of international specialities. In fact, theme nights with Greek fold dancing are a regular fixture in the weekly programme – the perfect way to round off the day. If getting acquainted with the locale is an imperative for you, there is plenty to see in the tourist resort of Hersonissos nearby, and Malia with its archaeological sites. The lively resort of Aghios Nikolaos is within easy reach as well, with its restaurants and throbbing nightlife.
