Airports image Airports image

One of the major airports of Northern Ireland, Belfast International Airport is perfect if you want to jet away to the sunshine for a week or two of fun and frolics. Last year (2011) the airport served over 4.1 million people and the airport is already expecting an increase in passengers for 2012. And it's not just us, these are in Belfast International Airport's top ten as well! Read on for holidays from Belfast Airport.

Amsterdam

Take a load off with a weekend away in Amsterdam. The Dutch city is the perfect cool hangout, there is no better place to people watch, shop, and stroll than in one of the most laidback cities on earth. Nip to quiet corners packed with cafes and bars, indulge in the frankly, legendary nightlife, but beware of the Red Light District! Days spent in the many museums of this highly cultured city will not be wasted, and from Van Gogh to erm, torture museums there is certainly something for everyone.??

Faro

You fancy some sunshine? You don’t want to go long-haul? Faro is perfect. Slap, bang in the middle of The Algarve, it’s got near year round sunshine, beautiful beaches, boutique shopping, quaint, charming towns and bangin’ clubs and pubs. There’s great value everything in and around Faro, we love Albufeira for its mix of old and new sides of town. If you’re interested in staying out all night and partying ‘til dawn, the strip is chock a block full of clubs, but if you want a relaxing few days, soaking up the sunshine on the beach, head for the Old Town with its delicious seafood restaurants, soft, sandy beaches and quiet calm streets. A quick trip from Belfast and you could be on the sun baked beach with a cocktail in hand.?

Barcelona?

Definitely one for the culture vultures, Barcelona’s ideal for a weekend away. This vibrant city is packed with cute bars and cosy cafes, that offer a cheeky beer or two to cool you down in the height of summer. Walk the length of the Ramblas, the huge street that bisects the city and drink in the buzzing atmosphere, filled with street sellers and tourists all vying for space. Take the kids to the city’s Aquarium, a real treat for any future Steve Zissous, or enjoy a day in the sunshine on the city beach and top up your tan before taking off for home.

New York

New York, New York, so good they named it twice. What is there to say about the Big Apple? You could write books, on the tonnes of things to do in NYC. Wander around the bright lights of Times Square and while you’re there, pick up some Broadway tickets for half price! A horse drawn carriage ride around Central Park and a visit to the Top of the Rock are more of our top choices, while breakfast at the Empire Diner is a must! Be in New York in just a few hours from Belfast International Airport.
