The Bakotu Hotel has been a firm favourite of ours, our guests and BBC presenter Chris Packham for many years, mainly thanks to the warm welcome the staff provide and the fantastic birdwatching available within the gardens. It is also in a good location with a couple of other hotels, restaurants, beach bars and a craft market nearby. The hotel provides a peaceful sanctuary for those looking for a relaxing holiday there’s no loud music or organised pool games, with perhaps only the occasional visit by local cultural entertainers. Captain’s Table, the hotel’s à la carte restaurant, is very popular and enjoys a good reputation for evening food. The continental breakfast should satisfy most appetites, however cooked breakfasts can also be purchased. The hotel has opened a coffee shop, bar and second restaurant adding to the increasedchoice of places to eat and drink in the area. Although not directly on the beach, sandy Kotu beach is less than 100 metres away and can be reached by strolling through the craft market. We believe, and our customers agree, that the Bakotu thoroughly deserves its 3 rating.
